"Attached is a part of an email sent to employees regarding non elective surgeries. This company has never, and I mean never, had adequate PPE. Their supply chain is so poorly run they have run out of basics like gloves and hand sanitizer PRE COVID19. If they weren't able to have adequate supplies pre pandemic what makes you think they will have it now when it is in such short supply? Seattle Surgery Center is run by Proliance Surgeons - a for profit company who has one thing in mind. MAKING MONEY. They have admitted to employees they have absolutely no "rainy day fund" and continued to perform non-elective surgeries despite being ordered not to.Here is an excerpt that was received by employees yesterday 5/1/2020::"The challenge we currently face is operational. While lab testing is available, specimen swabs and viral transport media are not yet (or at least not reliably in large quantities). Also significantly problematic is the fact that at this time, no outside labs (including our affiliated hospitals) are willing to actually collect the specimens from our patients. Therefore, all specimen collection would need to be done on site by Proliance teammates, and then transported to a lab to run the test. We have significant concerns regarding the proper training of our teammates, the need for a dedicated room or area for testing, use of PPE for each test, and the safety of that process in general. Furthermore, turnaround times are highly variable between labs and locations, and any test done earlier than 3 days before surgery becomes problematic because the patient can then get infected in the interim after a negative test. Given that we also still hold significant concerns for the overall accuracy of current testing technology, and therefore will still need to view every patient as possibly being an asymptomatic carrier of SARS-Co-V2, we currently plan to continue holding off on testing until an easier/safer to administer, accurate, rapid test is readily available for use by the entire Proliance enterprise."As you can see they have significant concerns about not having PPE.I understand the desire to get back to work, but I have absolutely no faith in this company - they lie. It is your role as our leader to keep us safe and if Seattle Surgery Center / Proliance Surgeons is allowed to proceed as they intend you will absolutely see the curve begin to rise again. This time the blood will be on your hands because you were warned." - Jamie
