Some person going by the name Pam Braithwaite send me a tip accusing her husband of being an undocumented immigrant. Her tip with redacted personal information regarding her husband is as follows:
"My husband is living in Florida near 15 years his name is ####### #### ####### ########### he is using the name #### ##### ####### he do not have his paper work he is living at #### # # ## ##### ########### Florida ##### his phone number is ########## he was born on the ## of November #### his gf name is ######## #### she live at ### ##### #### #### ### Margate Florida ##### her phone number is ########## according to my knowledge we r still marry I do not want him to know I report him plz "

Why would anyone send something like that to a website like Cop Blaster? The only possible explanation is that she was trying to visit a defunct anti-immigration complaints website that redirects to a page on Cop Blaster (linked to above) announcing that it will not be coming back. Mrs. Braithwaite was obviously online looking for ways to report illegal immigrants, stumbled on a news report about the old website, and ended up here before sending me that tip hoping I might forward it to ICE for her. Even back in the day I would not have done that. I would have sent her a link to a policy on the site saying that Illegal Alien Report did not forward information to law enforcement for people.
Illegal Alien Report was a collection of stories, complaints, etc. about people in countries illegally and those that hire them. People would land on the site doing Google searches for "report illegal aliens" and often they would choose to email the webmaster instead of writing a story. I don't think they really understood the different context of the word "report." When used before a phrase (ex: "report crime") it means to report something to an authority, but when used after the phrase (ex: "crime report") it means to retroactively write a report about something. In the case of immigration five to seven years ago the law was so rarely enforced that in most cases being an illegal immigrant was no more illegal than most lawful activities, so all opponents could really do was complain about it. That is where Illegal Alien Report gave them a voice. Back then it looked like Obama was going to grant amnesty, which would have made complaint sites like Illegal Alien Report more useful. Now that Trump is actually enforcing immigration laws I decided not to host that type of information anymore. There is a long personal story to this, but the more the police enforce that law, the more useless a site like that becomes, and I have better things to do.
On a personal note, after having met people doing prison time just for crossing the border, I think Mr. Braithwaite would be much better off divorcing Pam and keeping his new girlfriend. It is really messed up for this woman to try to get her husband kicked out of the country or worse just for finding someone better.
